1- General Data Protection Regulation

We respect the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of 14 April 2016. Pet Alliance Europe is the data controller of this website.

Your access and use of this Site constitutes your agreement to this online privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”), which may be amended from time to time. The updated version is applicable and not the privacy policy in effect at the time the data was collected. Please regularly review our Privacy Policy. If at any time you do not agree or have objections to the Privacy Policy, you should immediately discontinue use of this Site and follow the procedure described in the section entitled “Updating your Personal Information”.

1.1 Collection of Personal Information

You are not required to provide any personal information (“Personal Information”) on any areas of the Site. However, you may choose to voluntarily provide us with Personal Information about yourself, for example your name, postal address, email address, telephone number and/or other information, for various purposes. Personal Information submitted by you will be used to allow us, our employees, agents, consultants and sub-contractors to process your request for the purpose for which you give your consent, for example, to send you information on news, publications, seminars and events. Pet Alliance Europe does not collect or store data of a sensitive nature.

 

1.1.1 In-person Contacts

We may also collect information about individuals with whom we would like to stay in touch at events, for example, by exchanging business cards. This information may be used in the future to contact you about relevant issues, events, activity updates, resources, etc.

1.1.2 Legitimate Interest Contacts

We also rely on the legitimate interest legal basis for some processing, which applies to the following:

  • Where you are an established partner of Pet Alliance Europe and we are contacting you about our activities.
  • We consider that we have a legitimate interest in continuing to contact you by email, post and/or telephone once you have provided your details and there is no overriding prejudice to you by our use of your data in this way and for these purposes subject always to our carrying out appropriate checks.

1.2 Collection of Aggregate Information

We may also collect aggregate information and statistics (“Aggregate Information”) for the purpose of monitoring the Site usage in order to help us develop the Site and our services. These statistics are non-personally identifiable / anonymous information about you and will therefore not include information that can be used to identify any individual.

When you use this Site, Pet Alliance Europe may consequently collect certain information about your computer. For example, we may log environmental variables, such as browser type, operating system, CPU speed, referring or exit webpages, and the Internet Protocol (IP) address of your computer. We do not match such information with any other information unless we have your consent.

1.3 Data collection and use

Pet Alliance Europe collects your Personal Information in order to:

  • record support and facilitate your participation in the activities you select;
  • contact you and communicate with you;
  • verify compliance with legal requirements of applicable laws, rules and regulations.

 

The collection of Personal Information by Pet Alliance Europe will be limited to what is necessary for the purposes of collection. If the Personal Information is collected and processed for other purposes, your consent will be obtained before or at the time it is collected.

Pet Alliance Europe will collect, process or disclose your Personal Information only with your consent, except where required or permitted by law.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by sending an email to petpower@petalliance.eu.

Pet Alliance Europe keeps your Personal Information only as long as needed for the purposes for which it is originally collected or to which you have subsequently consented and for legitimate purposes (such are legal compliance).

Pet Alliance Europe does not sell, trade or transfer otherwise your personal data to any third parties other than to our agents, consultants and sub-contractors who assist us in running this Site and related services, and who are subject to security and confidentiality obligations. We only work with third parties that strictly comply with local data protection laws and the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679. Pet Alliance Europe will observe applicable law and take reasonable steps to ensure that any person or entity receiving or accessing your Personal Information for the purposes described here above are obligated to protect and keep secure the Personal Information.

Pet Alliance Europe does not use cookies on this Site other than the first-party cookie “Google Analytics” which allows tracking visitor interactions, giving us insights into this Site traffic and effectiveness. All data collected with the Google Analytics cookie is anonymous (such as browser information, date/time, demographic data, page views, etc.) or pseudonymous (such as IP address). These data are non-personally identifiable / anonymous information about you and will therefore not include information that can be used to identify any individual. You may set your browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. To enable or disable cookies, you may change your browser settings.

 

1.5 Data Security

We will keep your information confidential and secure and use it in accordance with our internal procedures covering the storage, access and disclosure of information, and all applicable laws. Pet Alliance Europe has implemented physical, technical and administrative safeguards reasonably designed to protect your Personal Information.

Pet Alliance Europe will keep your Personal Information as accurate, complete and up-to-date as necessary for the purposes for which it is collected and processed.

1.6 Updating your Personal Information – Your Rights

You have the right to access the information we hold about you, to have any inaccurate information corrected or any part or all of your data deleted and to object to/restrict the processing of your information. This Site may contain links to other websites which may have their own privacy policy. Pet Alliance Europe, its employees, agents, consultants and sub-contractors have no responsibility for those websites and we provide these links solely for your convenience. These websites may send their own cookies and collect/process personal information in a way inconsistent with this Privacy Policy. Any access of third party websites you choose to make is entirely at your own risk and subject to the privacy policy of such websites. We encourage you reviewing the privacy policies of any third party websites.

1.8 Social Media Links

This Site may provide links to Pet Alliance Europe’s social media channels which have been created to share information with you and to allow you to communicate with us and about us. By accessing such social media channels, you acknowledge that you will comply with the terms of such social media platforms, Pet Alliance Europe’s Terms of Use and that you consent to the privacy policies of such social platforms. You understand and acknowledge that you are responsible for whatever Personal Information you submit to such social media platforms. Pet Alliance Europe does not collect any of your Personal Information you post and share on social media platforms. On this Site, Pet Alliance Europe only provides links to its social media channels and does not use social plug-ins (imbedded buttons or widgets on a website provided by social media service providers).
